Dr. Claus Schaus, Dr. Jonathan Clayton, Dr. Ed Doherty and other physician leaders recognized at the 2026 Celebration of Medicine
The New Brunswick Medical Society recognized outstanding physicians, residents and medical students at the 2026 Celebration of Medicine, an evening dedicated to honouring excellence, leadership, service and compassion across the medical profession in New Brunswick.
The evening featured the presentation of NBMS Life Member Awards, major awards recognizing achievements across several areas of medicine, a valedictory address from Dr. Lise Babin, and the installation of Dr. Carl Boucher as President of the New Brunswick Medical Society for 2026-2027. The program also included greetings from Dr. Margot Burnell, Past-President of the Canadian Medical Association, and concluded with live music from Excel & The Spreadsheets.
In her final Celebration of Medicine as NBMS President, Dr. Lise Babin helped present awards to recipients whose contributions reflect the breadth of leadership within the profession, from patient care and medical education to rural practice, physician wellness, humanitarian service and organized medicine. The NBMS also recognized 26 physicians with Life Membership for their long-time service to their communities, their patients and the Medical Society.
